A 4 hour WORKSHOP LEARNING TO
GROW MORE
and CHANGE WITHIN

  • A light blue, flower-shaped object or icon on a black background

This four hour face to face workshop shows you how to break negative patterns that hold you back with engagement. You’ll create healthy habits that lighten your outlook on Aboriginal culture to help practitioners thrive and be confident.

  • Module 01 / Foundations

Module One is all about context and history. It includes an activity called “Walk in my shoes”, analysing situations of both positive and negative outcomes.

  • Module 02 / Understanding Community

Module Two we shift our focus to kinship mapping and the importance of family. We compare this to the biomedical model that sees the client in isolation.

  • Module 03 / Practical Engagement

We start put everything together in Module Three. You’ll begin to see the effects if yarning and rapport building plus minimise the “clinical talk”.

  • Module 04 / Optimising outcomes

We begin to brainstorm the barriers that may impact participating in allied health and how to overcome them.

  • Module 05 / Reflection and Action

We reflect on the barriers in our own day to day operations as allied health practitioners and how individually can make positive change

  • Module 06 / Ask me anything

I open the floor for truth and story telling about being an Aboriginal Physiotherapist, Aboriginal Health Worker and overcoming policy in healthcare.
